Sparda Bank Augsburg
Augsburg
As part of a feasibility study for Sparda-Bank’s new headquarters in Augsburg, a structural design concept was developed for a multi-story administrative building with three basement levels. The new building is designed entirely using reinforced concrete and includes office, consulting, and conference spaces, as well as publicly accessible areas on the ground floor. Special requirements arose from the cantilevered upper floors, a multi-story atrium, and the heavy loads from a technical system in the basement. The structural concept is based on point-supported flat slabs, beams, and a continuous service core to stiffen the building. As part of the feasibility study, various structural alternatives were examined and preliminarily analyzed using 3D FEM models. In addition, initial concepts for the foundation and excavation shoring were developed and incorporated into the overall technical analysis.
