BERGER HIGH-BAY WAREHOUSE SYSTEMS
Product development
The BERT shelving system developed for Berger consists of modular, coordinated components. The design of the elements as a plug-in system enables simple assembly and combination to create multi-storey shelving systems up to 8 m high. A tested structural analysis was developed for the system, which should enable it to be used for a wide range of applications.
The shelving system consists of 526 mm deep shelving units, each with 10 steel shelves. The shelving units, arranged in a row, form a shelving row and are stabilized longitudinally by diagonal braces on the back of every fifth unit. A shelving unit braced with cross braces can stabilize a maximum of 4 additional shelving units. Lateral stabilization is provided by the load-bearing effect of the uprights and depth braces. Aisles are located at the front of the shelving rows at a height of 2.66 m.
