Cybermohalla Hub

manifesta Bolzano 2008

The Cybermohalla project is a collaborative experiment to create public digital networking points between two Delhi-based non-governmental organizations. The aim is to use existing energies of the social network of the respective neighbourhoods to promote cultural creativity. The use of innovative digital technologies is a core element of the initiative. The target group are young people from slums and working-class housing areas. The Cybermohalla Hub manifests the location for these digital nodes: a modular system of wooden boxes is simultaneously building support structure and shell, opening, wall and roof as well as furniture and workplace. The prototype for such a Cybermohalla was made of wood-based panels for manifesta 2008 in Bolzano.
