The planned building serves as an extension for the Würzburg district administration office. The architectural expression of the building is characterized by a powerful volume, with concrete elements dominating the façade and carrying the internal structure to the outside. The open design of the façade allows deep insights into the interior of the building. The district administration office is naturally located in the existing campus of the municipal administration and becomes a center-forming building block without a specific visible side.
The building structure is designed for a constantly changing room program. The floor plans of the clearly structured building are very regular and allow a direct and therefore economical load transfer for all essential components of the construction. The reduction in vertical load-bearing elements ensures the greatest possible flexibility. The interior can respond to different usage requirements thanks to the efficient load-bearing structure. The supporting structure for the new seven-storey building is planned as a timber/reinforced concrete hybrid construction. The ceiling structures are designed as timber-concrete composite ceilings. The simple, geometric floor plan allows for short spans and regular joining points.
