The design for the fire station in Haltingen includes an operations center, changing rooms, training and office rooms and a vehicle hall including workshop. The chosen cubature of the 2-storey structure enables efficient handling in the event of an alarm and offers space for an optional extension of the vehicle hall. The foundation and wall panels of the hall are made of reinforced concrete to withstand vehicle impact, fire protection and moisture. The internal concrete parts are also part of the energy concept thanks to the existing storage mass. For reasons of sustainability and weight reduction, key components of the rising storeys are built in timber. The roof construction spanning over 14 m above the vehicle parking areas on the first floor is characterized by a regular construction grid of columns and beams.
