17 Nov 1st prize: New fire station 1, Stuttgart South
Together with Steimle Architekten BDA we are happy about the 1st prize in the competition "New building fire station 1, Stuttgart South"!
In accordance with the sustainability criteria defined by the state of Baden-Württemberg, the planned new building will be constructed in a sustainable manner using local wood and recycled concrete. In the spirit of the circular economy, the structure is to be built as a modular system, and the materials will not be used as composite components but as pure materials, so that a large part of the structure can be dismantled without destruction and reused. The planned construction method allows the targeted use of materials and is both ecological and economical. The clearly structured structure itself is also sustainable, allowing maximum interior flexibility, also with regard to future conversions, and at the same time permitting direct and thus extremely economical load transfer.
